When I wrote this post over a year ago, I never would've imagined it would end up in a book. Fast forward to March, when while looking at the website for Bahama Breeze, I noticed a "Mom's Night Out" event that they were sponsoring. On the same site they had a solicitation for moms to submit a short story, describing some event that had happened to them, that made them feel like they definitely needed a night out. The story had the chance to appear in author Rachel Hamman's upcoming book, "Mom's Night Out: Even Inmates Get Time Off For Good Behavior." I immediately thought of what has become affectionately known as the "poopie wall" story, and sent it in for fun.
Yesterday, I got a letter from Rachel saying it was selected! The book is due out in March of next year. To learn more about her, check out her website.
More than anything, this has re-sparked my interest in trying to publish creative writing, something I've always dreamed of doing. The ideal for me would be to write and publish children's books. We'll see...but in the meantime, I will bask in this tiny fame & glory!

A*M*A*Z*I*N*G! This is really cool, Michelle! I had never seen that post before now, and found it quite amusing! I hope you can laugh at it now! I never knew you wanted to write children's books! I think you would do fabulously well at it! Your posts are always very well narrated and entertaining! You can write what every mothers plights might be with such humor! Plus you are a natural with children! I'm gonna buy the book when it's out! Congratulations!

Congrats! This is awesome! I bet you never knew that crazy incident would earn you some fame and glory. At that moment you were probably wishing you were doing a different job! You'll have to let us know when the book comes out!
