Dear Summer,
Are you really going to leave us? It seems you only just arrived. We will be sad to see you go, as always, but let us not dwell on your parting, and rather on the memories you left with us...
lazy mornings...camping with friends...evenings in the garden...backyard bbqs...cousins camp...swimming lessons...lemonade stands...badminton...neighborhood walks...a blessed amount of time spent with extended family...naps...swinging on the swings...preserving the harvest...leisurely bike rides...the Ranch...garage sales...backyard pool fun...read-a-thons...great summer music...bocce...homemade ice cream...and staying up way past our bedtimes.
Please don't hold a grudge against us for still not having our camera fixed, and therefore for the inexcusable lack of pictures to capture the fun. Thanks for coming...and thanks for letting the sun continue to warm us with its rays a while longer.

Sounds like you had a great summer and you made me sad that summer is ending. I'm not too sad though because the crisp fall air is awesome.
Beautiful note to summer. Sounds like you had many good times. So sorry about the camera!!! Maybe Santa can help you with that. The summer here has been the hottest on record, so I rejoice to have days that stay in the 90's finally (almost every day this summer was over 100 degrees). Our enjoyable seasons are kind of opposite here. I love October through April and then dread the summer. Thanks for posting, friend! Miss ya.

ah...what a fun summer you guys had! At least the best season is the next one! That makes parting a little easier!
Oh I have had so much fun catching up with your blog and your awesome family! Your boys are getting so big! And I LOVED that train cake! Impressive! The garden boxes turned out so great, too! Those pictures from camping are breath-taking! It's so great to see you and see you are doing well!

I love your odes. I need to sit down and write two of them...ode to the Surrey house and Ode to the Escape. You've inspired me once again.
You had a full summer, but I always love Setember. It's fun getting back to school, having a routine, and you get the holidays to look forward to!
